CNC Operator

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum of two years’ experience as CNC Operator (CNC Nesting)
• Disciplined, self-motivated and organized
• Punctual, professional ethics and positive attitude
• Pro-active and takes initiative
• Understand and effectively carry out written procedures
• Ability to work overtime when required
• Basic computer & math skills
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Continuous improvement oriented

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Frequent walking, standing, climbing, heavy lifting/carrying, bending, kneeling and reaching
• Work around machinery with moving parts
• Typically work in Plant and have exposure to hot/cold temperatures, dust and excessive noises

Responsibilities:

General Responsibilities:

• Seek exceptional product quality and timely completion of work
• Foster good communication amongst fellow co-workers
• Learn proper and safe use of plant equipment and machines
• Keep clean work area and return all tools and other items to designated areas daily
• Receive and complete work orders and place paperwork in proper bins
• Learn Time Tracking Software to maintain accurate labor and material records
• Follow timely production start, stop and break times
• Learn procedures for receiving and picking & returning materials on computer
• Accountable for safety of self and others
• Learn and follow all company procedures
• Follow all company policies

Job Specific Responsibilities:

• Work in CNC Department in Plant
• An appreciation for the importance of deadlines and budgeted hours per task
• Thorough knowledge of architectural casework and millwork
• Read CAD drawings
• Operate and maintain the following equipment:
  • SCM nested based CNC router
  • OMAL CNC router
  • SCM Edgebander
• Responsible for the quality of all parts being run on the above CNC equipment
• Some basic G-code programming for the above CNC equipment
• Responsible for the various components for the above CNC equipment (heads, bits, blades, etc.)
• Accountable for changing tools and sending them for sharpening when required
• Use precision measuring equipment
• Maintain organized inventory of raw materials and work in progress materials
• Empty various scrap bins and dust collectors
• Perform other duties, including working in other areas as required, to meet the mission and goals of the company
